Session 134
Market to Yourself
Larry Lim
At first, retired (after 28 years of service) U.S. Army Lt. Colonel, former Wall Street investment banker, real estate developer, President of the Hawaii Chamber of Commerece, owner of his own management consulting firm, team building & conflict resolution specialist, certified trainer for the Franklin-Covey Leadership Institute, instructor for the Professional Dynametrics Programs (PDP), Sylvan Learning Systems and the Pace Group, and professor (currently at Boise State University) of sales, marketing and entrepreneurship, Larry Lim knew all about network marketing— but he wouldn't touch us with a 10 foot-long (like his) curriculum vitae.

Why? Professor, Mr. Lim didn't want to be "one of those" kinds of people. He couldn't see himself as a network marketer, and more importantly— he didn't ever want to be seen as one himself. But eventually, all of that changed.

Why? Two things: The relationship-based, business-like approach of his eventual sponsor, Del Williams AND an honest assessment of his financial health which revealed five terminal problems for a 50 year old professional man: 1. No matter how successful he was (and he was), becoming debt-free working in his field wasn't a possibility. His retirement income would be way below what he really needed. 3. He had three children in college. 4. His parents would soon need to be cared for financially. And, 5. His business success could not be passed on to his kids.

Eight years later, Larry Lim's is a leader in Tahitian Noni International with a group of more than 20,000 networkers on his team in 17 countries. He has achieved the rank of Triple-Diamond Black Pearl, is a member of TNI's "Millionaire Club" and… those five concerns above are all handled and then some. Not bad for a Plan B. This Session is his story.

Putting Knowledge Into Action
A business man's "Why" network marketing is the best opportunity for most people today.

This is a call for Tahitian Noni representatives (so, beware the company-specific references and insert your own product, opportunity and unique business advantages) where the once "allergic to network marketers" Professor Lim explains what changed his mind, why he got into the business and why today, a network marketing business is the best opportunity of all. It's a message of hope.
